It's the Hap-Happiest Season of All!

It's the holidays! And although I'm not particularly religious and refuse to believe that baby Jesus was born in a manger and the three wise men showed up to presents gifts... blah blah...you know the story. I do enjoy the lights, trees, shopping, decorations, ect. And best of all, everyone seems to be in a better mood around this time of year. It's odd, a usually unscrupulous mean old man hears "Jingle Bells" and all of the sudden he's overcome with the holiday spirit and begins passing out money - oh, wait maybe that's a dream I had last night. Nevertheless, the holidays bring out a side of homosapians that is quite possibly their best side and I'm down with people being nice(er).

This is my first holiday season in Austin, Texas and I'm quite happy with it so far. For starters, it's much warmer than NC - we had a high of 80 yesterday. There aren't many places where you can walk around barefoot on Thanksgiving so that's a nice treat.

I very much want a tree this Christmas, but my wonderful and pragmatic boyfriend doesn't think it's necessary. Here's what I say to him, "Tough Shit". First thing this weekend I plan on dragging him to the nearest tree farm to pick out a nice small tree. I don't have decorations here in Texas because I forgot to pack them but we will make due with things around the house, you can decorate a tree with just popcorn, right?

Next Wednesday is my 25th birthday, more to come on that later but I will say, being born in December (even if it's the 1st day of December) blows. Most people are too lazy or uninterested to bother buying your two gifts so I end up hearing this phrase A LOT, "This is for your birthday and Christmas". Cheap asses.

Here's wishing you and yours a Happy Happy Holiday Season!
